Manaslu Circuit Trekking

2019 & 2020 - April 2 to 23 & October 5 to 26

Manaslu circuit is a remote area trek in the west of Nepal. It is known for its breathtaking mountain views, challenging terrain and encounter Gurung and Tibetan villages. The living Buddhist culture is virtually untouched because of remote location.

Our trip to Manaslu circuit begins with a 7-8 hour drive from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar. Then, next day we hike through the lush rice terraces and thatched huts to the north along with sprawling Gurung villages perched on high, terraced hilltops. Here the ethnically Tibetan inhabitants speak their own dialect, partly Tibetan and partly Gurung, and live in a Tibetan lifestyle. Spectacular mountain panoramas, dominated by Mt. Manaslu itself, the scenic beauty, perennial sources of water from glaciers, waterfalls and exotic cultural values are main highlights of the trek of this region. The valley above Samdo near the border of Tibet is beautiful. After crossing the snow-covered Larkya La pass (5106m) we will descend to Bhimthang and Tilje through tropical areas, bursting with ferns, bamboo, pine trees and finally we reach sanje .From here we catch a vehicle that takes us to Kathmandu.

  • Overland drive to and from Kathmandu
  • Walk from lush sub-tropic to the highest mountains in the world
  • Spectacular Trans-Himalayan high pastures
  • Wonderful cultural experiences with the Tibetan and mountain people
  • Manaslu Conservation Area covers 6 climatic zones
  • Buddhist monasteries, architecture and tradition
  • Wonderful photographic opportunities
