Mera Peak (6,476 meters) is the highest trekking peak in Nepal, offering a breathtaking panorama of five of the world’s tallest mountains — Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga. This 18-day expedition is ideal for fit trekkers looking to take their first step into Himalayan mountaineering, with moderate technical difficulty and strong safety support from an experienced climbing team.
Your journey begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, then takes you through pristine villages and less-crowded valleys of the Hinku region. After reaching Mera Peak Base Camp, you’ll summit via Mera La and return fully supported by professional climbing Sherpas.
Our representative will pick you up at Kathmandu International Airport and drive you to your hotel. Depending upon what time you arrive, you can enjoy a full day at leisure. In the evening, we will meet for a welcome dinner with Keep Walking Nepal family.

A 30-minute flight; 4–5 hrs trek through forest trails.

Bidding farewell to your crew, you will fly back to Kathmandu, where Keep Walking Nepal’s diligent staff will be waiting for you.
The rest of the day is at leisure. We recommend a quick shower and a visit to the laundromat. In the evening, we will go on a group dinner to celebrate your adventure.
A KWN representative will accompany you to the Tribhuwan International Airport for your flight back home.

Here is a list of what you might want to pack for the hike. Please take this as a starting point. You’ll need layers of warmer clothing during the winter. We provide a 75 liter duffel bag for you to use for the trek. It will be given to you during your pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The duffle bag is yours to keep. Also, you can rent sleeping bag and down jacket with us at the additional fee of USD 35 for each once you are in Kathmandu.
Yes. Mera is considered a non-technical trekking peak, ideal for strong trekkers with good fitness. Some experience with crampons and cold weather is helpful but not required.
Expect temperatures between –15°C to –25°C near the summit, especially on the early morning ascent.
Summit day begins around 2 AM. You’ll walk on glacier terrain with ropes and crampons and use a fixed line near the final summit ridge. It takes 10–12 hours round trip.
Not strictly, but you must be physically fit and ready for altitude. We provide training in Khare before the summit.
Mid-April to May and October to mid-November offer the best weather and visibility.
Yes, nearly all personal gear can be rented in Kathmandu or in Khare at reasonable prices.
