Overview

Sikles Trek takes you through beautiful Gurung villages where a fascinating lifestyle and culture flourish. The trek pursues the narrow lanes flanked by stones and through the historically designed Gurung village, which forms a ribbon.

Sikles is a beautiful, well-kept village on a hill at 2000 m altitude. Famous for its well-preserved rustic feel, there are few better examples of a traditional Gurung village.
You move in the foothills at altitudes of around 2000 m above sea level and thus keep distance to the high peaks. Nevertheless, the hike is not as strenuous as it seems at first glance, it is also here in the famous “Nepali flat” constantly uphill and downhill. Sikles Trek is possibly a rich route in the sense of culture, hospitality, and the Himalayas. With a cultural variety of western Nepal, it has natural diversity.

Sikles trek also presents an amazing view of the Annapurna region with the age-long Jhankri and Lama traditions of the Gurung communities unique to the Western world. You will stay overnight in private houses (homestays) and thus get a genuine impression of Nepalese country life. It is also a rich region with an excellent place for birds, with nature and culture. It hosts shelters that are ideal for bird watching as well.

Experience the unspoiled Gurung culture along with an ancient water-driven flour mill as well as a traditional way of carving on the Sikles Trek with the Keep Walking Nepal family.
